a 100 year old industry

Saving our planet

One innovation at a time.

Increased flexibility at the grid edge is required to achieve ambitious climate goals and can be provided by Blixt’s technologies. But how large would the effect be?

Two research institutes have made their independent assessments to find out.

22% reduced CO2 emissions

Amounting to a massive 24 MTon saved emissions in UK, France, Sweden and Germany alone.

101 Mton CO2e savings per year

Blixt top ranked by Mission Innovations’ Net Zero Compatible Innovations Initiative.

IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute.

Founded jointly by the Swedish government and the Swedish business sector in 1966, IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute is Sweden’s first and oldest environmental research institute.
IVL’s research article reveals the effect of using solid state circuit breakers as climate solution. By analyzing what loads can be used for flexibility and shifting that consumption to maximize the use of renewables, the result found by IVL was that solid state circuit breakers could reduce GHG emissions by up to 22%. The study focused on residential electricity use and covered France, Germany, Sweden and UK. In only those four countries savings amounted to a massive 24 Mton CO2e per year! Read more >

Net Zero Compatible Innovations Initiative.

How do we filter the most effective innovations to invest in? To find out leading governments and prominent climate impact investors created Mission Innovation’s Net-Zero Compatible Innovations Initiative (NCI). NCI has developed a new way to estimate emissions-slashing potential for innovations across the world and gathered the best innovations for mitigating climate change to quantify the actual potential – Blixt was selected as one of those.

After being assessed by NCI experts, coordinated by RISE (Research Institute of Sweden), BLIXT ranks amongst innovations with highest potential GHG reductions with estimated GHG reductions of 101 Mt CO2e per year 2030.

Mission Innovation (MI) is a global initiative of 24 countries and the European Commission (on behalf of the European Union) working to reinvigorate and accelerate global clean energy innovation with the objective to make clean energy widely affordable. Read more >

Solar Impulse Labelled Solution.

Blixt has been awarded the Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label. The label is designed to shed light on existing Solutions that are both clean and profitable and have a positive impact on quality of life. A decision as to the attribution of the Label will be made by the Solar Impulse Foundation following a rigorous assessment based on a verified methodology and against several criteria performed by external independent Experts.
